Bay area, or the Chinese food weekend

Last weekend I took advantage of a business trip to stop in the Bay Area. We spent the weekend with M's mom and enjoyed the area. Saturday I took them to Big Basin Redwood Park where we enjoyed the sight of a forest of giant trees. Just to give you an idea of the dimensions:

We finished the day by a Chinese Banquet with KY's old classmates and friends (I don't think I've ever had that much Chinese food in a meal).
The next day we met an old friend of M's for a Dim Sum brunch and headed for the Golden Gate. The view on San Francisco was crystal clear:

The bridge always as impressive as ever and I got M and KY to discover a viewpoint they didn't know of:

It felt like the perfect day to sail around the bay, that reminded me a day a while back Katel, Frl and I sailed around in Eric's boat.

We continued the relax afternoon by a walk on windy Pier 39, having an ice cream or two, watching the street shows and enjoying the view on Alcatraz. We spent quite some time looking at this French Luxury Restaurant Boat (with 2 American flags) which was built by some eccentric billionaire.

We finished the day with even more Chinese food at a dinner with M's relatives.
The rest of the series is here.

For Tristan

Last time I tried to bring friends to the fire station, the trucks were out. Today they came straight home after the fire alarm rang. Thankfully it was a small fire and not on our floor, and the time out waiting for them to inundate the floor and the one below gave me the opportunity to take pictures of the trucks.

Nice weather is back...

...and it's time to restart getting some exercise I suppose. M has been kicking my a.. rightfully to get me to exercise more and the past few days have been quite good. 900m swim Friday, 11.5 miles bicycle yesterday and a 3 miles run this morning with some time at the gym after.
That obviously made me hungry, and this is the best occasion for me to show you the nice griddle we received for our wedding which has been working wonders. Yum-yum.

Apple-cranberry chicken links with asparagus, the griddle is the only way I managed to get them tender and crunchy at the same time.
